Need Some Social Media Advice?

How much is Social Media Advice Worth?

Outsource your Social Media Management to an expert.

Need Social Media Advice? Consider outsourcing your Social Media Management to an expert.

Just how much is Social Media advice and consulting worth? It never ceases to amaze me the people that want or expect free advice. Recently I had a salesman come around to quote on a swimming pool at our place. In conversation he asked what I did. When I told him I was a Social Media Consultant he whipped out his phone to excitedly show me his teenage son’s Go Carting Facebook Page. It had an impressive 120,000 likers on the page and he wanted to know what he needed to do to increase the likes and engagement on the page, as he wanted to approach advertisers.   He became really pushy questioning my ability to provide a marketing strategy when I couldn’t or rather wouldn’t tell him what to do on the spot. Recently I have developed a chronic foot injury through running, but I would never dream of showing a Podiatrist, Doctor or Surgeon my foot in casual circumstances and asking for a ‘what do you think this is’ opinion unless I had booked a paid appointment, so why do some people undervalue the expertise, skill and experience required in providing a service in Social Media?

As a Social Media Specialist I’m here to share with you what goes on behind a Social Media role! Anyone can post to Facebook but it takes strategy, persistence, maintenance and measurement to effectively drive Social Media in a way that promotes productive relationships and gives businesses a ROI.

Planning.

Planning is fundamental to marketing and management of Social Media. Meeting with clients, coming up with ideas to frame a message, communicate with your target market, solve a business problem, creating copy & artwork, tweaking and above all keeping to your client’s brand & voice. This creative and strategic process takes time!

Publishing and Scheduling

Once your content is approved by the client it’s time to schedule to multiple channels ensuring the content is formatted correctly for each Network.

Monitoring

Content needs to be continually monitored for engagement, questions and comments. This varies for different brands and business size is no indicator.   It can often be difficult to gauge the amount of time it may take to engage with a brand’s community. This is another layer of customer support for your business.

Promotion/Advertising

Promotion and advertising work takes creative thinking and diligence and time to get the results you require. Facebook ads are big right now and take knowledge, skill and experience to execute. If you don’t know what you are doing, youre wasting your time and money.

Reporting

Reporting on and tracking your Social Media is about providing transparent results on past actions and working on how to better improve those results in the future.

This is a very brief overview on the advice you are getting from a Social Media Consultant in order to execute, promote and show a return on your Social Media. It’s not a matter of finding any old thing on the Internet and posting that to your Social Media Networks. It take skill, experience, constantly keeping across the updates on platforms and most of all time to ensure you get the best bang for you buck . So if and when you consider outsourcing content development, promotion and management of your Social Media take my advice and take all these factors into account. Outsourcing your Social Media is a clever marketing opportunity through a fresh set of eyes and may be just the thing you need to take your business to the next level.
